biography

Richard A. Waddell, M.D., FACEP is a clinical instructor of emergency medicine at the University of Washington Northwest campus in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Waddell completed his residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois in 2001. Following residency, Dr. Waddell completed four years with the US Navy stationed overseas and at Bremerton Naval Hospital. Dr. Waddell joined Northwest Hospital in 2005 and continues working as a clinical instructor.

Dr. Waddell has participated in multiple clinical committees overseeing the advancement of MI, CHF, Pneumonia, and CVA protocols and their integration into the emergency room throughout his years at Northwest Hospital. Dr. Waddell’s emphasis on emergency medicine care has been motivated by his goal of appropriately providing efficient, expedited, and empathetic medical services to a diverse population.  

Dr. Waddell enjoys the Northwest and can frequently be found skiing and hiking.
