Biography

Dr. Heemun Kwok is interested in optimal strategies for the treatment of cardiac arrest. By examining electronic defibrillator downloads from cardiac arrests, he is developing new algorithms that incorporate tools of signal processing and machine learning. He completed the clinical research fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and serves as a methodologist on the American College of Emergency Physicians Clinical Policies Committee. Using the King County EMS registry of defibrillator recordings, Dr. Kwok applies signal processing and machine learning methods to evaluate potential strategies to individualize care. He has been a co-investigator on a number of grants and participates in a multidisciplinary collaboration between academia, public health and industry. Dr Kwok attends in the Emergency Department at both UWMC Montlake and HMC.
