Doug Franzen will be working with Katherine Hiller from University of Arizona on a grant funded by CORD titled:
“A multi-institutional online database for implementation and validation of the National Clinical Assessment Tool for Emergency Medicine (NCAT-EM): a consensus-derived tool for clinical assessment of medical students in Emergency Medicine.”
This project aims to implement and validate the NCAT-EM by collecting data across multiple institutions via an innovative web-based portal.
The NCAT-EM is a national, consensus-derived evaluation tool for medical students on emergency medicine clerkships. It's an attempt to standardize the clinical evaluation of medical students. In this first phase, they're going to collect data from ~30 sites that are going to implement the tool, to establish baseline statistics.
