2022 rESEARCH SHOWCASE

This year's UW Department of Emergency Medicine Annual Research Showcase was held in person for the first time since 2019, and once again featured groundbreaking research from faculty, residents, and medical students!

Research topics included traumatic brain injury, opioid use disorder, health effects of climate change, and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Dr. Frederick Korley

Dr. Frederick Korley, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan, was our Inaugural Guest Speaker for the Annual Department of Emergency Medicine Research Showcase. Dr. Korley presented research investigating the use of biomarkers to evaluate and manage traumatic brain injuries.

Kyle Steinbock was the 2022 winner of the Student Presenter Category, presenting research on a novel lung ultrasound device. Kyle will be presenting his research at the upcoming Annual SAEM Conference in New Orleans this year.
