MED EM 681 - Emergency medicine subinternship
Elective clerkship emphasizing the management of ambulatory emergencies, severely injured, and critically ill patients.
rotation details
- Four-week rotation
- 14 shifts in the Harborview and UW Montlake Medical Center Emergency Departments.
- Students attend required clerkship workshops/simulation labs. Two 4-hour labs per rotation, taught by UW EM faculty, covering ultrasound, suturing, splinting, ACLS, case simulations, etc.
- Participation in residency conference.
- Participation in UW EM residency journal club and/or social activities, as available
- Standard Letter of Evaluation (SLOE) provided
prerequisites
Completion of all core rotations: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry, OBGYN, Pediatrics, Family Medicine
eligibility
The rotation is open to all students at LCME-accredited and COCA-accredited US medical schools who plan to pursue a career in emergency medicine.
