biography
Jared Strote has been an emergency physician at the UW Montlake Campus and Harborview for over 17 years. His primary educational focus is medical student education: finding effective ways for student doctors to learn the management of emergent clinical presentations while at the same time providing the best possible care for our patients.
Dr. Strote’s research interests are broad but his primary focus has been on minimizing risk of injury or death during law enforcement encounters where force is used. He works with the Seattle Police Department and the Department of Criminology at Seattle University analyzing police practices, injury patterns, and outcomes.
Dr. Strote also serves on two FEMA Urban Search and Rescue teams, on the national Incident Support Team as a Medical Officer, and on the Washington State Task Force as Medical Manager.
