Biography
Dr. Chicoine Mooney, JD, MD is an attorney and emergency medicine physician. She cares for patients in the Emergency Department in both academic and community settings. She strives to provide excellent, thorough patient-centered care. Dr. Chicoine Mooney’s interests include medicolegal and medical-ethical issues and quality improvement. As a resident, she developed a medicolegal education program entitled, “The 52 Weeks of MedicoLegal Pearls” for both residents and attendings to enhance medicolegal education for the Department.
In conjunction with the University of Washington School of Law, she also chairs the bi-annual MedicoLegal Day, a novel curriculum designed with the aim to increase residents’ medicolegal knowledge, which includes the experience of being deposed by UW law students via a mock deposition based on a real emergency medicine case.
