BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Kruse Young is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Wisconsin before attending Tufts University School of Medicine, where she participated in the Rural Medicine track and completed her clinical years in Maine.

Dr. Young completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois, a high-volume trauma center serving Chicago’s south side. Her academic and clinical interests span global and rural health, with a particular focus on disaster medicine, water quality, food insecurity, and infectious diseases.

She is thrilled to be joining the University of Washington’s Global Health Fellowship.
