Section of EMS Matches with Newest Fellow
The Section of EMS is thrilled to have matched with Dr. Owen McBride during the 2020 Fellowship match process. Dr. McBride completed his Bachelor of Science at San Diego State University before matriculating at the University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine. He will join the UWashEMS team after completing Emergency Medicine Residency at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California.
“I am beyond excited to be joining the team at University of Washington EMS. I am honored to be part of an organization with a proven track record of advancing the field of prehospital medicine and prioritizing progressive and compassionate care for their community. I cannot wait to get started!”, said Owen McBride, MD, incoming EMS Fellow.
Dr. McBride is currently serving as Chief Resident and has also been involved with the COVID-19 Airway Working Group and the Specialty Referral Committee at Highland. He has research interests in opioid use disorder, agitated delirium, and systems of care.
“Dr. McBride brings curiosity to improve patient care and respect for EMS professionals. We are delighted to welcome him to Seattle”, said Michael Sayre, MD, Program Director for the EMS Medicine Fellowship.
Dr. McBride will start his fellowship in July 2021.
