Dr. Fockele awarded grant by SAEM Foundation and National Institute of Drug Abuse

Dr. Callan Fockele was recently awarded a grant “Creating a Safety Net in Washington: establishing a Regional Program for the Initiation of Buprenorphine for Opioid Use Disorder from the Emergency Departments in King County” from the SAEM Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

 This is a mentor-facilitated training award in substance use disorders science dissemination.Her mentor is Dr. Lauren Whiteside. Other DEM faculty on this grant include Dr. Herbie Duber.

This grant started December 12, 2018 and the project will take 12-18 months to complete. As part of the award, Dr. Fockele will present at SAEM and will be invited to the NIH campus to present at a NIDA CTN meeting in March 2019.
