The Department of Emergency Medicine proudly announces that Dr. Caitlin Schrepel has received the 2024 Faculty Teaching Award from the Council of Residency Directors (CORD).

This award recognizes the contributions of a junior faculty member to the education of emergency medicine residents. Awardees are selected based on their demonstrated commitment to teaching, contributions to their emergency medicine residency program, and involvement in state or national activities that promote resident education.

Dr. Schrepel has been involved with CORD as a leader since her residency. Her volunteer efforts have significantly progressed CORD as an organization and continue to benefit CORD. Dr. Schrepel was elected to the CORD Board of Directors as a resident member and served as Team Leader for CORD’s Advising Students Committee in EM (ASC-EM).

Additionally, Dr. Schrepel has published eleven CORD and EMRA advising guides for students interested in EM and currently serves as the Junior Track CDEM Track Chair for the CORD Academic Assembly.

"Dr. Schrepel is a gifted and accomplished educator who has successfully promoted innovation within EM education through curricular development and medical education research," said department chair, Dr. Susan Stern. "She has served in several CORD leadership roles and is a rising star! Dr. Schrepel is highly deserving of this award."

Congratulations Dr. Schrepel and thank you for all you do!
