Dr. Lewis Selected for 2026 Jackson Leadership Fellowship

The Department of Emergency Medicine is proud to announce that Dr. Sam Lewis (PGY-4) has been selected as a 2026 Henry M. Jackson Leadership Fellow.
The fellowship brings together nine civic-minded leaders from across Greater Seattle each year to strengthen their leadership skills and explore new ways of serving the community. Rooted in the legacy of Senator Henry M. Jackson, the program provides Fellows with mentorship, opportunities for collaboration, and a framework for values-based leadership.
“As I near the end of residency, I am eager to apply the lessons learned from clinical care to broader population health work,” Dr. Lewis said. “Through the Jackson Leadership Fellows Program, I am thrilled for the opportunity to invest in community engagement, policy development, and management skills. I look forward to learning from such a talented cohort, and hope to build bridges between medicine and the wider community of public servants in Seattle.”
According to the fellowship, the Jackson Foundation selects candidates based on their level of civic and professional engagement, areas of impact, commitment to finding common ground, thirst for learning, and connection to the Foundation’s mission.
Congratulations, Dr. Lewis!
